The San Antonio Spurs conclude its back-to-back on Saturday as they travel to Denver to play the Nuggets at 9:00 p.m. ET. San Antonio is set to play the LA Clippers on Friday and before that, was blown out by the Raptors. Denver, meanwhile, is coming off a 122-110 win over the OKC Thunder.

San Antonio is hitting the road after four straight home games which concludes with a Friday night home game against the Clippers. In its last game against the Toronto Raptors, San Antonio was blown out 143-100 in a non-competitive game, despite Toronto being up just one after the first quarter. In the game, San Antonio was led by Keita Bates-Diop who had 17 points while Malaki Branham dropped 13 off the bench and Josh Richardson also had 10 off the bench as the only double-digit point-getters.

The Spurs have been led by Keldon Johnson who’s averaging 23.9 PPG while Devin Vassell is averaging 19.8 and Jakob Poeltl is chipping in with 13.1 points. As a team, the Spurs are shooting 45.8% from the field and 38.4% from three and have been a surprise to begin the season. San Antonio is over .500 but is only averaging 111.6 PPG and allowing 117.3. However, the Spurs average 30.9 assists per game which is the best in the NBA.

San Antonio will be without Blake Wesley while Zach Collins, Romeo Langford, and Isaiah Roby are considered day-to-day.

Denver will play a home-and-home with the San Antonio Spurs as they host the Spurs on Friday before traveling to San Antonio on Monday. In the Nuggets’ win against the Thunder on Thursday to improve to 5-3, they were led by Aaron Gordon who dropped 27 while Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists. Jamal Murray, meanwhile, chipped in with 24 points as all five starters recorded double-digit points, and off the bench, Bruce Brown Jr. had 15.

The Nuggets are currently averaging 114.5 PPG which ranks 10th in the NBA but are allowing 115.5 as both teams’ defenses have struggled. At home, meanwhile, Denver is averaging 116.3 PPG and is a perfect 3-0 at home to begin the season. Meanwhile, they have been led by Jokic who’s averaging 20.3 PPG along with 11.4 rebounds and 9.1 assists. Michael Porter Jr. is chipping in with 17.4 points while Gordon and Murray are averaging 15.4 and 15.3 points, respectively.

Denver will be without Collin Gillespie while Ish Smith, Bones Hyland, and Zeke Nnaji are day-to-day.
