Game Preview: Milwaukee Bucks vs Memphis Grizzlies

The Milwaukee Bucks head to Memphis to play the Grizzlies on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. Milwaukee is coming off a 128-111 win over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. Memphis, meanwhile, ends its four-game homestand and is currently on a six-game winning streak.

Bucks Beat Defending Champs
Milwaukee was stunned by the Houston Rockets on Sunday on the road and then returned home for one game against the defending champs. The Bucks got out to a 38-27 lead after the first and never looked back as they won the second and third quarters and were then outscored by one point in the fourth. In the game, they were led by Giannis Antetokounmpo who had 30 points and 12 rebounds while off the bench, Bobby Portis also had a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Khris Middleton added 20 points while Grayson Allen chipped in with 16.

The Bucks are 20-7 this season and are one game back of the Boston Celtics for the top seed in the East while they are 7-4 on the road. Milwaukee, meanwhile, is averaging 112.6 PPG with an offensive rating of 112.6 which ranks 16th while defensively they allow 107.6 PPG which ranks second and their defensive rating of 107.5 is the best in the league. This season, they have been led by Antetokounmpo who’s averaging a double-double with 31.1 PPG and 11.3 rebounds while Jrue Holiday is averaging 19.1, and Brook Lopez is chipping in with 14.3 points while Portis is averaging a double-double with 14 PPG and 10.3 rebounds.

Milwaukee lists Holiday as day-to-day.

Grizzlies On Six-Game Win Streak
Memphis is on a six-game winning streak and is 18-9 this season which is tied for first in the West with the New Orleans Pelicans. In their last 10 games, they are 8-2 while at home they are an incredible 12-2. This season, they have been led by Ja Morant 27.7 PPG while Desmond Bane is averaging 24.7 PPG, Jaren Jackson is chipping in with 18.4 and Dillon Brooks is averaging 17.7. As a team, they are averaging 115.5 PPG which ranks seventh while defensively they allow 111.7 which ranks 12th.

In the Grizzlies’ win over the Atlanta Hawks last time out, they won 128-103 in a game they dominated from start to finish. They were led by Tyus Jones who had 22 points while Brooks, Jackson Jr., and Brandon Clarke had 18, 15, and 11 points, respectively. Meanwhile, off the bench, Santi Aldama had 16 points and David Roddy and Xavier Tillman chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Memphis will be without Bane and Danny Green while Morant and Steven Adams are day-to-day.
