Lamelo, Hayward: In or Out vs Rockets?

It’s been a disastrous season for the Hornets who have dealt with injuries and have not been able to generate enough offense to win games. The Charlotte Hornets head out on the road and that might be a good thing. They have lost five consecutive home games after back-to-back defeats by the Celtics this past weekend.

LaMelo Ball finished Saturday’s 122-106 loss to the Celtics with 31 points (11-27 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 8-8 FT), nine assists, seven rebounds, and one steal in 39 minutes.

Even though Ball wasn’t as good as the last game, he still made 11 field goals and scored more than 30 points. He also made all of his free throws and only needed one more assist to get a double-double.

Ball is more valuable in points leagues than in category leagues because of his low field-goal percentage. However, he is still a valuable fantasy player in category leagues because of his neutral-to-plus contributions in points, assists, rebounds, steals, three-pointers, and free-throw percentage.

Gordon Hayward has a hamstring injury and is not expected to play against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Hayward has always been called “doubtful,” and he has always sat out the game as a result. There is no reason to think that will change on Wednesday. His next chance to speak will be on Saturday in Atlanta. In Hayward’s place, Jalen McDaniels should get another start, unless Hayward gets better in the next 24 hours.
