Game Preview: Magic vs Knicks

The New York Knicks head to Orlando to take on the Magic on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. New York is coming off a 108-97 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. Orlando, meanwhile, picked up a road win over the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.

Knicks Vying For 6th Seed
New York is currently a half-game back of the Miami Heat for sixth in the East and avoiding the play-in game. In the Knicks’ win over the 76ers on Sunday, New York struggled early as the Knicks trailed 35-24 but rallied in the second quarter outscoring Philadelphia 27-18. New York then cruised to the win in the fourth quarter outscoring the 76ers 32-18. In the win, the Knicks were led by Julius Randle who had 24 points, Jalen Brunson had 21, and Quentin Grimes had 13. Off the bench, Evan Fournier had 17 points, Miles McBride had 14 points, and Isaiah Hartenstein had 14 rebounds.
The Knicks, as mentioned, are in seventh in the East with a record of 29-26 and is half a game back of Miami for sixth in the East. New York is currently 4-6 in their last 10 and averaging 114.4 PPG while allowing 112.7 PPG and shooting 45.9% from the field which ranks 24th and 34.4% from three which ranks 23rd. The Knicks have been led by Randle who’s averaging 24.7 PPG, Brunson is chipping in with 23.1 PPG, RJ Barrett is averaging 20.2 PPG, and Quickley is chipping in with 12.5 PPG.
New York will be without Mitchell Robinson while Barrett is listed as day-to-day.

Magic On Two-Game Win Streak
Orlando is currently 22-32 in 13th in the East while being on a two-game win streak while being 13-13 at home. The Magic are averaging 111.4 PPG which ranks 27th while allowing 114.4 PPG which ranks 18th and shooting 47.1% from the field and 35.1% from three. Orlando has been led by Paolo Banchero who’s averaging 20.3 PPG, Franz Wagner is averaging 19.5 PPG, Wendell Carter Jr. is chipping in with 15.1 PPG, and Markelle Fultz averaging 12.5 PPG.
In the Magic’s win over the Hornets on Sunday, Orlando trailed 37-28 after the first quarter but then outscored Charlotte in the final three quarters to get the win. In the win, the Magic were led by Banchero who had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds, Carter Jr. also had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Fultz had 16, and Wagner had 14 points.
Orlando will be without Mo Bamba and Chuma Okeke.
