Damian Lillard Reveals His Pick For Sixth Man Of The Year

The 2023 NBA Awards will be revealed in a couple of weeks, and now that the regular season is coming to an end, many people are revealing their pick for every major prize.

Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard recently cast his unofficial vote on the Sixth Man of the Year award, going with a New York Knicks player.

“Quickley,” Dame quote-tweeted an NBA Central tweet asking fans who should get the Sixth Man of the Year award.

Besides Quickley, Boston Celtics’ Malcolm Brogdon, Milwaukee Bucks’ Bobby Portis and Sacramento Kings’ Malik Beasley were part of the options. For Dame, however, the answer is easy, going with the young Knicks player.

In 79 games this season, Quickley has recorded 14.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per outing for the Knicks, who are one of the top-5 teams in the Eastern Conference this campaign. It’s easy to see why Lillard, who recently picked Joel Embiid as this season’s MVP, is riding with Quickley on this one.

He’s shooting 44.8% from the field, as well as 36.7% from beyond the arc. He’s improved his game every season and has helped the Knicks reach the spot where they are right now.

Damian Lillard Shuts Down The Notion That He’ll Play For The Los Angeles Lakers

Meanwhile, Lillard is making headlines with his recent freestyles. One of them included a shot at those asking him to go play for the Lakers, using Reggie Miller as an example of how loyalty looks like in the NBA.

He knows he’s a great player who can make a big impact on the game, even claiming that he should be a First Team All-NBA this season. But he wants to make that impact on the Portland Trail Blazers, but the clock is ticking, and Dame can end up retiring without winning a ring, wasting his talent with the Blazers.

Lillard has been shut down for the rest of the season by the Trail Blazers ahead of an offseason that could see big changes for the franchise and their star player.
