Andrew Wiggins’ Status For Warriors-Kings Game
On Friday night, the Golden State Warriors will be in Sacramento, California, to face off with the Kings.
For the game, they will remain without one of their best players, as Andrew Wiggins has been ruled out (Return to Competition Reconditioning).
The former Kansas star has missed each of the last 23 games but recently returned to the team after being away due to personal reasons.
Head coach Steve Kerr (via 95.7 The Game) said that Wiggins will not play in the final two regular season games of the year.
The 2022 NBA All-Star had been having an excellent season with averages of 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals per contest in 37 games.
He’s also shooting 47.3% from the field and 39.6% from the three-point range.
On Thursday, Wiggins was at practice with the team, and he will likely be able to give them a big boost for the 2023 playoffs.
Last season, the 28-year-old was a big reason why they were able to win the NBA Championship over the Boston Celtics.
Via Jason Dumas: “Andrew Wiggins participated in the Warriors scrimmage on Thursday
He spent time after practice getting work in Jama Mahlalela. The Dubs are known for their slow ramp ups, always based off sports science/being cautious, but Kerr acknowledged they’ll look to expedite this process”
Right now, the Warriors are the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 42-38 record in 80 games.
They are 6-4 in their last ten games and 9-30 in the 39 games they have played on the road away from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
