Derrick Rose Made NBA History In Grizzlies-Pistons Game
The Memphis Grizzlies are in Michigan facing off against the Detroit Pistons.
During the game, Derrick Rose made NBA history by moving up on the all-time scoring list.
The 2011 MVP came into the evening with 12,479 career points, and he has moved ahead of Johnny Kerr (12,480) for 250th on the list.
Rose is now among the top 250 scorers ever, and the next player for him to pass will be Mark Jackson (12,489).
Rose entered the matchup with averages of 9.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per contest while shooting 47.0% from the field and 38.1% from the three-point range in ten games.
Despite Rose’s strong play, the Grizzlies have struggled, as they are the 14th seed in the Western Conference with a 5-14 record in their first 19 games.
They are 4-6 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Phoenix Suns by a score of 116-109 (Rose did not play in the game).
Following the Pistons, the Grizzlies will play their next game on Friday when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.
Rose was the first pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, and is in his first season with Memphis.
He has also played for the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks (twice).
The three-time NBA All-Star has career averages of 17.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists per contest while shooting 45.6% from the field and 31.6% from the three-point range.
