Washington Wizards vs.Boston Celtics Preview
Wizards Happy To Be Near Finish Line
The Wizards made some moves in the off-season but they didn’t pan out, as they stumbled their way through another tough campaign. They haven’t only been one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference but also one of the worst teams in the NBA. Just a few weeks ago, they had one of their best stretches of the season, in which they went 4-4 over an eight-game span, but couldn’t keep it going. Now with the finale on the line, they only have two wins in their last ten to look back on, as well as a five-game losing streak. Even at home they only have seven wins on the season and there’s little doubt that they are in for a tough one on the road in this one.
Considering there isn’t anything on the line for Washington in this one, they could be without several players. They have nine players on the injury report, with five of those already ruled out, including starters Tyus Jones and Marvin Bagley Jr. Adding in that Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Poole are questionable as well, which could leave the Wizards looking all over for production.
Washington’s offense has been respectable this season but between going up against one of the league’s best defenses, plus being without a few players themselves, it could spell trouble. The Wizards look to play at a fast pace too but with Boston likely slowing this one down, it could take a cut into their scoring. Kuzma and Poole lead the way in scoring, so if one or both of them can go, it should give them a leg up in this one but without both, it’ll fall on the perimeter duo of Deni Avdija and Corey Kispert. Add in one of the league’s worst defenses and this one could be a challenge.
