Suns’ Kevin Durant Reacts to Fan Saying ‘He Has No Place He Can Call Home’ in NBA

Bleacher Repor

After Oklahoma City Thunder fans booed him during his return to his old stomping grounds on Friday night, Phoenix Suns superstar forward Kevin Durant responded to a comment about his reception on X.

Durant was booed loudly by Thunder fans during pregame introductions and whenever he touched the ball during Phoenix’s 128-103 loss as OKC fans remain upset over his decision to leave the organization and sign with the Golden State Warriors in 2016.

Quote-tweeting a video of fans booing KD on Friday, a fan noted that they felt bad for Durant since he “has no place he can call home” in the NBA.

Durant replied, noting that he feels at home no matter where he goes:

I’m at home everywhere I go

After one standout collegiate season at Texas, Durant was selected No. 2 overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2007 NBA draft.

The Sonics moved to Oklahoma City one year later, and KD remained with the franchise for nine seasons.

Durant enjoyed a great deal of success, including seven All-Star selections, four scoring titles, one NBA MVP Award and one trip to the NBA Finals, but he was unable to bring a championship to Oklahoma City.

Rather than trying to get over the hump with the Thunder, Durant joined a Warriors team that reached the NBA Finals in two straight seasons and won a title before his arrival.

The move worked out for Durant, as he won two championships with Golden State and was a two-time NBA Finals MVP, but it didn’t ingratiate him to Thunder fans, who continue to hold a grudge to this day.

Durant spent three seasons with the Warriors before jumping ship again and signing with the Brooklyn Nets. Then, after playing parts of three seasons for the Nets, he was traded to Phoenix last year.

KD is a surefire future Hall of Famer with a career scoring average of 27.3 points per game, and his accolades make him one of the greatest players in NBA history.

While the fan may have a point in terms of Durant not spending all or most of his career with a single team like legends such as Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Tim Duncan or Larry Bird, there are plenty of all-time greats who made the rounds.

LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal and Kevin Garnett are just a few of the players who spent significant time with multiple teams but are still viewed favorably.

It will likely be tough for Durant to get on the good side of Thunder fans since he didn’t win a championship before he departed, but Warriors fans are undoubtedly grateful for the two titles he helped them win in three years.
