The Pacers pay a visit to the Hornets at the Spectrum Center on Wednesday night.

Indiana Pacers 2022-23 roster outlook: A young core and trade assets

The Indiana Pacers have been in great shape as they’ve won five of their past seven games and they will be looking to stay hot after routing the Raptors in a 118-104 win on Saturday. Buddy Hield led the way with 22 points on eight of 15 shooting, Myles Turner added 19 points with 10 rebounds and two blocks while Jalen Smith chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 50 percent from the field and 19 of 43 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the game and trailed by as many as 15 points, but it was a tale of two halves as they dominated the second half by 66-39 to win comfortably in the end.

How the Hornets can learn from the mistakes of the past

Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have been in a real slump as they’ve lost 11 of their first 15 games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum after snapping an eight-game losing streak by beating the Magic in a 112-105 road win on Monday. Mason Plumlee led the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds on eight of nine shooting, LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier each scored 17 points while Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in with 16 points and six steals. As a team, the Hornets shot 47 percent from the field and seven of 35 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Magic from the start and poured in 58 points in the first half to take a 13-point lead into halftime which ballooned to 19 points in the third quarter.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a win and 7-0 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Hornets are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four home games and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games overall.

Head to head, the over is 7-1-1 in the last nine meetings in Charlotte, the Pacers are 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings overall and the Pacers are 3-12 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Charlotte.

The Pacers will be keeping an eye on Tyrese Haliburton who is questionable due to a right ankle sprain, while the Hornets will be missing Dennis Smith Jr and Gordon Hayward once again. The Pacers come into this meeting as the team in better form and they just blew away the Raptors. The Hornets were riding an eight-game losing streak before taking down the lowly Magic on Monday and they are only 0-3-1 ATS in their last four home games. The Pacers are shorthanded but they should be well-rested as they haven’t played since Saturday and I like them to get the win in this spot.
