Spurs takes on Kings
The San Antonio Spurs head to Sacramento to take on the Kings on Thursday at 10 p.m. ET. San Antonio is coming off a 117-110 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. Sacramento, meanwhile, beat the Brooklyn Nets 153-121 on Tuesday.
Spurs In Middle Of West Coast Road Trip
San Antonio will be playing its third game of a five-game road trip and has dropped both games to the Golden State Warriors and Trail Blazers. In the game against Portland, it was back-and-forth until the buzzer in a game San Antonio was led by Jakob Poeltl who had a double-double with 31 points and 14 rebounds. Devin Vassel chipped in with 21 points while Keldon Johnson had 20 and off the bench, Keita Bates-Diop had 10 points off the bench.
The Spurs, meanwhile, have struggled offensively as their offensive rating ranks 25th at 109.5 as they are averaging just 112 PPG. Defensively, they rank 28th as they are allowing 119.5 PPG which is the worst in the NBA. Yet, they have been led by Keldon Johnson who’s averaging 22.7 PPG while Vassel is averaging 19.6 and Poeltl is averaging a double-double with 13.4 PPG and 10.1 rebounds.
Kings Put On Offensive Outburst Against Nets
Sacramento dropped 153 points against the Brooklyn Nets as they scored 73 in the first half and 80 in the second half. In the game, the King balanced out the scoring as seven players scored double-digit points but were led by Terence Davis off the bench who dropped 31. Kevin Huerter had 19 points while Domantas Sabonis had 17 points and Harrison Barnes had 16. Off the bench, Malik Monk had 15 points while Trey Lyles had 12. De’Aaron Fox also recorded 14 points.
The Kings have been led by Fox who’s averaging 24.6 PPG along with 6.3 assists while Sabonis is averaging a double-double with 17.8 PPG and 11 rebounds per game. Huerter, meanwhile, averages 16.8 PPG while Malik Monk and Keegan Murray are averaging 12.1 and 12 PPG, respectively. As a team, they are shooting 49.3% from the field and 38.1% from three while they have the second offensive rating in the NBA at 117.
