Game Preview: Grizzlies vs Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies duke it out at the FedExForum on Friday night.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past four games and they will be looking to stay hot after sneaking past the Wizards in a 121-120 road win on Wednesday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 42 points and seven assists on 14 of 22 shooting, Luguentz Dort added 16 points while Josh Giddey chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Thunder shot 54 percent from the field and 16 of 31 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and trailed by as many as 17 points before they rallied all the way back to steal the win on a clutch 3-pointer from Gilgeous-Alexander with just 1.1 seconds left on the clock.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their past eight games and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Pelicans in a 113-102 road loss on Tuesday. Ja Morant led the way with 36 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Dillon Brooks added 19 points while Brandon Clarke chipped in with 15 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks off the bench. As a team, the Grizzlies shot just 41 percent from the field and nine of 35 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Pelicans in a tight contest, until they scored just 15 points in the fourth quarter to allow the Pelicans to escape in the end.

The Thunder will again be missing Tre Mann and Darius Bazley while the Grizzlies will again be without Desmond Bane. The Grizzlies have understandably opened as favorites at home where they are so tough to beat, but the Thunder are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 road games.
