Converge regained its winning ways after dealing Blackwater its seventh straight loss with a 98-90 victory in the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena.

A red-hot Maverick Ahanmisi came off the bench roaring, finishing with a career-high 31 points, four rebounds, and four assists to help Converge recover from a 116-112 loss to NLEX last Saturday as they improved to 6-2.

Blackwater, meanwhile, dropped to 1-8 on a seven-game losing skid.

Import Jamaal Franklin poured in 19 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks while Jeron Teng chipped in 17 markers, six boards, and two dimes.

Justin Arana grabbed 12 rebounds alongside six points as Converge strengthened its hold of the third spot behind TNT and San Miguel which occupy the top and second spot, respectively.

Troy Rosario paced the Bossing with 20 points while Sean Glover chimed in with 19 markers, 10 boards, five assists, and two blocks.
