Injury Report: Thunder Without Gilgeous-Alexander for Second Straight Game
Following a loss on Tuesday to the Hornets, the Thunder are in desperate need of a bounce back win on Wednesday when Detroit visits the Paycom Center.
The Thunder will have to do so once again without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who was injured in the Thunder win over Portland on Sunday. He also missed the Thunder’s game against the Hornets. It’s not the first time the Thunder have had to play a game without their star guard, but the growing importance of games as the seasons winds down the injury could be a blow to the Thunder’s postseason efforts. OKC is 5-7 in games where Gilgeous-Alexander has sat out with injury.
The Thunder are in a tie for tenth in the Western Conference, they are tied with the Mavericks, but do own the tiebreaker against them.
The Pistons are also missing key players for the game as well, however the game doesn’t share the same importance as OKC, as Detroit is not in playoff contention. The Pistons enter the contest losers of their last six games with most not being close losses.
OKC will lean heavily on Jalen Williams and Josh Giddey to help fill the void left by SGA’s absence. That duo and Isaiah Joe combined to score 95 of OKC’s 134 points on Tuesday
